Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Lecturer to join a reputable college in the West Midlands on a part-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire learners pursuing qualifications in Early Years education and childcare.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching across Early Years courses (e.g., Level 1-3 Childcare, T Levels, or CACHE qualifications)
* Plan engaging and interactive lessons aligned with curriculum and awarding body requirements
* Support learners in developing practical knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and early years practice
* Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on assignments and coursework
* Monitor learner progress and implement targeted support where required
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
* Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
* Support learners in progressing to employment, apprenticeships, or higher education within the childcare sector
Requirements
* Relevant qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or a related field (Level 3 minimum; Degree preferred)
* Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
* Experience teaching Early Years or Childcare in a Further Education or similar setting
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding practices
* Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
* Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
