Grants and Reserves Accountant - Interim (6 months) My client is a Local Authority in the East Midlands who are looking to appoint a talented Grants and Reserves Accountant on an interim basis. About the role: Based in the East Midlands (Hybrid): What's on offer: Day Rate: £500 - £600 per day (please submit your CV with the rate you require) Remote Working / Hybrid Available Contract Type: Contract (36 hrs a week) Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday You will be responsible for: Producing a modern grant register, ensuring effective oversight of funding streams. Reviewing all reserves to establish their purpose and identify potential calls upon them, supporting the introduction of detailed in-year monitoring. Managing and reconciling all grant-related activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective use of funds. Reviewing and improving internal financial policies, ensuring full compliance with grant requirements and regulatory standards. Introducing new approval documentation for the use of grants and reserves. This is a hands-on, high-impact role, essential for maximising the authority's financial capabilities and strengthening governance around reserves and grants. About you: You will have the following experience: Extensive local authority finance experience at this level. Membership of a professional body by examination (e.g. CIPFA, or other CCAB body) plus CPD. Experience of managing reserves, grant accounting, and supporting corporate finance functions. Strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to modernise and improve processes. How to apply Once your CV is received, if you are successful you will be contacted.
