Multi-Skilled Line Engineer – Middlewich
Location: Middlewich Site
Hours: 4 on / 4 off Continental Shift Pattern (06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00)
Pay Rate: £23.04 per hour

We’re searching for a hands-on, multi-skilled Line Engineer to be the go-to problem solver on our Middlewich site. If you can think fast under pressure, spot ways to improve efficiency, and keep complex FMCG machinery running at its best—you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
About the Role
As part of our cross-functional team, you’ll provide rapid, effective responses to breakdowns, complete planned maintenance, and work alongside Operations to ensure production targets are met. You’ll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement, minimising downtime, and ensuring equipment performs to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to machinery breakdowns and log actions in CMMS (Shire)
* Complete planned maintenance tasks to GMP standards
* Provide first-line maintenance support for auxiliary equipment (boilers, AC, etc.)
* Diagnose and repair faults quickly and effectively
* Monitor line performance to improve efficiency and reduce waste
* Work with contractors, issue permits, and assist with installations/decommissioning
* Maintain safe working practices and comply with statutory requirements
* Support production operations when needed as part of a lean team
Skills & Experience Required
* Time-served engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3, ONC, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent) – Essential
* Multi-skilled (mechanical and/or electrical) with FMCG/automation experience – Essential
* Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
* Confident using Microsoft Office and CMMS software
* Strong communication and organisational abilities
* Health & Safety focused, with a continuous improvement mindset
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – Desirable

* 42 hours per week
* Starting Grade C8 pay rate, rising to Grade C9 after probation
