P&L Recruitment are working exclusively with our rapidly expanding client based in North Lanarkshire to recruit a full-time, permanent Assistant Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded in a timely manner while managing one member of staff in accounts payable. Responsibilities:
* Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals
* Reconcile expenses
* Reconcile credit card payments
* Bank reconciliations
* VAT Return preparation
* Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
* Assisting with month end duties
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
* Manage the subcontractor ledger, including invoice posting and compliance checks (CIS, reverse VAT knowledge essential)
* Verify subcontractors’ CIS status and insurances
* Handle email and phone queries from subcontractors and surveyors
* Managing the payroll which is outsource and checking holiday pay
* Management and development of a team member
* Ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
* Previous Accounts Assistant experience is essential
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
* Highly proficient skills in Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Comfortable liaising with stakeholders across the business
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
