About the Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment. You’ll work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support that meets the individual needs of each pupil. From assisting with classroom activities to encouraging confidence and independence, your contribution will help shape brighter futures. Your day will involve supporting pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop essential skills. You’ll also assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and behaviour management, ensuring every child feels safe and supported. This setting provides a nurturing and structured approach to education, focusing on emotional wellbeing alongside academic achievement. You’ll be working with pupils who may experience anxiety, low confidence, or attachment difficulties, so patience and empathy are key. What We’re Looking For To succeed in this role, you’ll need: A minimum of six months of childcare experience, ideally supporting children with additional needs A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young learners Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential Experience in SEMH support is highly desirable, as you’ll be working with pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement.
