We’re seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading main contractor on a major Life Sciences project in Tralee.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven individual to take ownership of the engineering delivery for the fit-out and internal finishes stages of a complex, high-specification build. You will lead the engineering function on site, coordinate with senior management, and ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and technical control are achieved throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the site-based engineering team.

Set and control the project’s engineering strategy, ensuring quality and accuracy in all setting-out and technical activities.

Review and implement inspection and test plans (ITPs) for all relevant packages.
*
Oversee QA processes, records, and compliance with company procedures.
*
Coordinate design and temporary works requirements, ensuring all lifting operations are planned and managed safely.
*
Conduct interface reviews across multiple disciplines to identify and resolve technical issues early.
*
Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and RFIs.
*
Liaise closely with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless delivery.
*
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and excellence across the project team.
Qualifications & Experience
*
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
*
Experience in internal fit-out and finishing phases of major construction projects (ideally in healthcare or life sciences).
*
Strong knowledge of QA procedures, tolerances, and inspection standards.
*
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) training and lifting operations awareness (A61 CPCS) preferred.
*
Scaffold inspection awareness advantageous.
*
Proficient with planning and programming software.
*
SMSTS/SSSTS (UK) or MSIC (Ireland) certification
