Job Description:
A new opportunity has recently opened up for a Mental Health Support Assistant to work in a lovely specialist school supporting vulnerable children. They are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
The students attending this setting have been identified as struggling primarily with Autism, but they also have co-existing needs such as mental health difficulties and behavioral challenges. The school is seeking someone who can make a real difference in supporting students with their interventions and ensuring they stay on track.
This is an important role where you will be responsible for providing tailored emotional support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. As an Emotional Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive and safe environment for students.
You will be involved in developing students' social skills, emotional regulation, and academic engagement through therapeutic activities, all within a supportive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities include providing one-to-one support to students while working through their intervention plans, assisting with class activities and exercises, and preparing students for lessons to help them focus on coursework.
To be considered for the role, you should have an enthusiastic and positive attitude. These learners need someone who will be a pillar of support, prioritizing their safety, and ensuring the classroom is a fun and engaging place where learning can occur.
