An established engineering and specialist manufacturing business based in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Production Controller to join their growing operations team.
The company delivers complex fabrication, welding and engineering services to clients across the energy and industrial sectors, operating from a well-equipped manufacturing facility in Glasgow..
This is a key position within the business, working closely with the General Manager, shop floor teams and welding engineers to coordinate production activities and ensure efficient workflow across the facility.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
• Producing shop floor travellers and route cards for manufacturing
• Managing production planning and scheduling
• Coordinating workflow across the shop floor
• Arranging and managing sub-contract operations
• Monitoring production efficiency and output rates
• Maintaining stock control and supporting month-end processes
• Addressing production issues and improving operational flow
• Ensuring health & safety compliance across production activities
The role requires close collaboration with production teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to required standards.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will likely come from a welding, fabrication or heavy engineering environment and will have strong production planning experience.
Essential experience includes:
• Knowledge of Fronius welding equipment, ideally including models such as:
– PA9000
– Endless Torch Rotation systems
– Compacting Cladding Cell
– PA2003
• Experience in production planning / production control within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to produce and manage production documentation and schedules
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with shop floor teams
• Good IT and organisational skills
Desirable:
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or ISO 3834 standards
• Experience working within welding, cladding or specialist fabrication operations
