Job Description Summary In this role, you can join the PDx business of GE HealthCare. We're looking for you if you have experience working within a Nuclear environment and are familiar with Nuclear Regulators (ONR) legislation. Having experience in working with Radioactive Waste Management and the use of Radioactive Materials would be desirable.
Your role would be to operate the facility’s transport system to ensure the safe and efficient movement of nuclear waste throughout the site in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
* To operate the transport system, ensuring that it is operated at all times in compliance with regulatory requirements.
* To prepare for transportation by selecting appropriate containers and closing valves on process equipment prior to transport.
* To perform daily checks on the transport system and record any defects found. Arrange for repairs as necessary.
* To check the radiation levels of each container before transferring it to the transport system and after removal from the transport system.
* To be responsible for maintaining accurate records of waste transferred.
* To wear appropriate personal protective clothing including gloves, face mask and eye protection when using the transport system.
* To keep areas around the transport system clean and tidy.
* To report immediately any accident or incident involving the transport system, no matter how minor.
* To ensure that the correct waste is loaded into the transport system to avoid contamination.
* To check the integrity of each container prior to loading it onto the transport system.
Qualifications
* Must have experience working within a Nuclear environment and be familiar with Nuclear Regulators (ONR) legislation.
* Experience in working with Radioactive Waste Management and the use of Radioactive Materials would be desirable.
