The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Counsellor to play a key role in the team. This position combines clinical practice with operational management, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred services while mentoring and developing a growing team of volunteers, students, bank staff and Counsellors.
Alongside managing a clinical caseload, the successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the service, support service development opportunities, and deliver supervision sessions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute strategically to the growth of therapeutic services and help expand support to individuals and communities who need it most.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies and community partners to promote emotional wellbeing, improve access to support services and help deliver positive outcomes for service users. The Counselling Service delivers support through:
* Face-to-face counselling
* Telephone counselling
* Online / virtual therapy
* Group wellbeing interventions and psychoeducation programmes
Please note that all roles at our client requires a satisfactory DBS check.

Experience, Qualifications and Training Requirements
Essential:
* A recognised counselling qualification and membership of a relevant professional body such as BACP, NCPS, UKCP, HCPC or BABCP.
* Significant experience working within counselling, emotional wellbeing or mental health services.
* Experience delivering evidence-based psychological therapies and interventions.
* Experience managing risk, safeguarding and complex client presentations.
* Experience supporting or mentoring volunteers, students or staff.
* Ability to build effective therapeutic relationships and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
* Knowledge of evidence-based approaches including CBT, mindfulness and compassion-focused therapy.
* Excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
Desirable:
* Experience facilitating group interventions or psychoeducation programmes.
* Experience contributing to service development initiatives.
* Knowledge of outcome monitoring tools and reporting systems.
