We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Building Services Engineer to join our Technical/Design Team. This is a cross-functional role that will support the Estimating, Operations, and Commercial teams by developing coordinated design solutions, assisting with tender reviews, and supporting live project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building services, though we welcome applications from individuals with a bias towards one area who are willing to broaden their knowledge across disciplines.
? Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the development, coordination, and review of M&E technical designs and specifications.
* Provide design support to the Estimating Team during pre-construction and tendering phases.
* Work alongside the Operations Team to resolve technical queries and ensure seamless design-to-installation transition.
* Support the Commercial Team with technical input for procurement and value engineering exercises.
* Attend and contribute to design coordination meetings with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
* Conduct site surveys and provide input for condition assessments and buildability reviews.
* Ensure all designs are compliant with current regulations, standards, and client requirements.
? Candidate Profile
* HNC/Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline).
* Experience in a building services contracting or design environment.
* Strong understanding of either mechanical (HVAC, domestic water, gas, etc.) or electrical (LV distribution, lighting, containment, etc.) systems — with a willingness to develop cross-disciplinary expertise.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM tools (Revit preferred).
* Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE standards.
* Effective communicator with an ability to collaborate across departments.
