Financial Controller
Location: Coventry (5 days a week on-site)
Salary: £70-75,000

About the Role
As Financial Controller, you’ll take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust reporting, strong cash management, and effective cost control. Working closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team, you’ll act as a trusted advisor, providing the financial insight needed to support key strategic decisions and long-term business growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing operational detail with big-picture thinking.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading month-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely results
Preparing and presenting monthly financial reporting packs to Group
Owning cash flow planning, credit control and working capital management
Providing meaningful financial insights to support strategic decision-making
Delivering budgeting, forecasting, and risk/opportunity analysis
Leading, mentoring, and developing the Finance team
Overseeing project accounting and profitability tracking
Acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership on performance optimisation
Ensuring all statutory reporting, tax, and audit requirements are met
Strengthening internal controls and driving continuous process improvement
Reviewing and approving balance sheet reconciliations
Supporting scenario planning, financial modelling, and investment appraisals
Leading or supporting ad-hoc financial projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a senior finance role within manufacturing
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Strong ERP experience and high proficiency in Excel (SAP desirable)
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Strong analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail
Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels
Experienced leader capable of developing and motivating a high-performing finance team
Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
High levels of integrity, accuracy, and commitment to quality
Desire to learn, grow, and contribute to continuous improvement
