We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Surveyor to support property and asset management within a local authority setting. This role will focus on managing a diverse property portfolio, supporting regeneration activity and delivering commercial outcomes aligned to wider organisational priorities.
You will work across a range of asset types, providing professional advice, managing commercial arrangements and supporting the delivery of property strategy and development initiatives.
Location – London
Salary - £490 per day
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the property portfolio to maximise value, reduce costs and support long-term financial and social outcomes.
* Identify and deliver asset management opportunities, including lettings, rent reviews, refurbishments and disposals.
* Lead on commercial property transactions including leases, acquisitions and disposals.
* Act as an intelligent client to external consultants, agents and property managers.
* Support the development and delivery of property strategy aligned to wider organisational objectives.
* Contribute to regeneration and development activity, including land assembly and disposal programmes.
* Undertake budgeting, forecasting and financial management across the property portfolio.
* Prepare business cases, financial appraisals and reports to support decision-making and approvals.
* Work with internal teams, legal and finance to deliver coordinated property solutions.
* Manage relationships with stakeholders, advisors and service areas.
Skills and Experience
* Experience working as a commercial property professional within a public or private sector environment.
* Degree in a property-related field and/or membership of RICS (or working towards).
* Strong experience in asset management, including lettings, rent reviews, lease negotiations and disposals.
* Knowledge of commercial property transactions, contracts and legal agreements.
* Experience preparing business cases, financial appraisals and reports.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a portfolio environment.
* Experience procuring and managing external consultants and advisors.
* Understanding of public sector property strategy, regeneration and policy context.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver to deadlines.
