We are seeking a thoughtful and proactive individual to support engagement with the Japanese community in West London.
This role focuses on strengthening relationships between the Japanese community, local civic life, and national political dialogue. It also involves supporting structured communication with the Japanese Embassy and relevant institutions. The position would suit someone who genuinely cares about the Japanese community both in the UK and in Japan, and who has a serious interest in local and national politics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain relationships with Japanese families, professionals, and business leaders
* Attend and support community events and discussions
* Identify key issues affecting Japanese residents locally
* Monitor relevant local and national political developments
* Assist with research, briefing preparation, and correspondence
* Support meetings and follow-up communication with the Japanese Embassy and other institutions
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong interest in UK local and national politics
* Genuine care for the Japanese community in the UK and Japan
* Good understanding of Japanese culture; Japanese language skills desirable
* Strong communication skills and organisational ability
* Professional, discreet, and comfortable in civic or institutional settings
