Teaching Personnel is delighted to be supporting a warm and inclusive primary school in Altrincham that is looking for a dedicated teaching assistant to join their team from March. The school is seeking someone caring, proactive, and committed to helping pupils succeed.
About the Role
As a Year 5 teaching assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils as they continue their Key Stage 2 journey. You will provide focused 1:1 support, assist small groups, and help deliver engaging lessons that promote progress and confidence. Your role as a teaching assistant will be key in nurturing pupils’ academic skills, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Year 5 class teacher with planning, delivering, and assessing learning activities.
* Provide targeted 1:1 and group support to reinforce key concepts.
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
* Support pupils with diverse needs, including those with SEND or English as an additional language.
* Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote a supportive learning community.
About You
* Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a school setting.
* A positive, enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to help children develop confidence and independence.
* A teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
