Business Development Manager South East England | Groundworks / Civil Engineering £45,000 – £55,000 Uncapped Commission Car Allowance The Opportunity An established and growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive new business across the South East. Working closely with the commercial and operational leadership team, you’ll play a critical role in identifying opportunities, securing new contracts, and building long-term client relationships. This is a great role ideally for someone already operating within the groundworks, construction, or civil engineering sectors who is looking for greater autonomy, strong earning potential, and the chance to make a visible impact. About the Role * Develop and execute a clear business development strategy targeting main contractors, developers, and key stakeholders across the South East * Identify and pursue new project opportunities in residential, commercial, and industrial groundworks packages * Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads and negotiate profitable contracts * Represent the business at client meetings, site visits, and industry events * Collaborate with estimators, QSs and delivery teams to ensure smooth project handovers * Report on sales activity, forecasts and performance to senior management About You * Proven track record in business development or sales within groundworks, civil engineering, or construction subcontracting * Strong network of contacts with housebuilders, main contractors, and developers in the South East * Commercially astute, target-driven, and comfortable working autonomously * Professional, credible and capable of representing the company at all levels * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East Package & Benefits * Basic salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience) * Uncapped commission structure tied to achievable sales milestones * Car allowance or company vehicle * Pension, laptop, phone, and business expenses * Opportunity to shape the role and grow with the business
