About The Role
Tribosonics Limited is seeking a Project Engineer Apprentice to join their team. The candidate will assist in implementing measurement technologies into customer systems through research, testing, development, manufacture, and implementation of ultrasonic sensors and instrumentation.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Manufacture prototypes for visualization and testing purposes, including machining on milling machines and lathes, additive manufacturing, and managing outsourced machining tasks.
2. Support prototype design production based on experimentation results, research alternative solutions, document findings, and source components from bills of materials.
3. Oversee preparation and finalization of experimental investigations, including understanding risk assessments, preparing labs, and managing materials and equipment.
4. Support experimental investigations by sourcing materials, conducting tests, recording data, and maintaining documentation.
5. Analyze and report experimental results, process data, plot results in Excel, and assist in report writing.
6. Perform practical work safely, following procedures, ensuring accuracy, and complying with H&S regulations.
7. On-site work includes creating method statements, risk assessments, packing lists, and supporting industrial visits.
8. Manage suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and specification-compliant delivery of parts, and report progress to line managers.
9. Ensure a safe working environment, report H&S issues, and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
10. Assist with other tasks, including lab and office management, shipping, and contributing to team meetings.
11. Qualifications required include two A-Levels with a math and science/engineering focus, or equivalent qualifications such as BTEC Level 3, EAL Diploma, or T-Levels.
About The Training
You will undertake a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer degree apprenticeship focusing on Maintenance Technology, culminating in a Degree Level 6 qualification in Engineering. Training initially occurs full-time at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre, then one day a week for ongoing knowledge development.
