We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Occupational therapist to join our Integrated Community Stroke Therapy Team, based at the Furness General Hospital, working across both inpatient and community settings. This position is a fixed-term opportunity covering maternity leave.
Our Stroke Therapy Team operates within a culture of a strong, supportive multi-disciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Assistant Practitioners. We promote an inter‑disciplinary approach, working together to support patients to choose, set, and work toward meeting goals, helping to enable positive rehabilitation outcomes and facilitate timely discharge from hospital.
Our Stroke Therapy Team is committed to fostering an environment that promotes professional development and engagement with research opportunities. We encourage regular clinical and managerial supervision to support personal professional development and provide clinical supervision for our Assistant Practitioners.
We offer you the opportunity to join our interdisciplinary Stroke Therapy team to develop your clinical knowledge and skills. You will primarily work in an acute hospital setting at Furness General, with potential opportunities to gain experience across our community pathway.
Staff develop their knowledge and skills through our appraisal process and receive support via supervision, in‑service training opportunities, and a peer support group.
Requirements
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy approved by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
* Registration with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist
* Ability to travel between sites and in the community
Applications are welcome from students expected to graduate from the current programme in 2026.
