This is a business-critical leadership role, shaping engineering strategy, driving operational resilience, and influencing long-term client outcomes.
The Role
Reporting to the Account Director, you will lead a senior engineering leadership team responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and high-performing engineering services across a complex estate. You will act as the single point of technical authority, Responsible Person, and Duty Holder.
What You'll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering Delivery
1. Act as the single point of accountability and escalation for all engineering services
2. Lead delivery across a diverse, multi-site portfolio
3. Ensure resilience, uptime, and service continuity across mission-critical environments
4. Drive innovation and continuous improvement
Statutory Compliance, Safety & Governance
5. Accountable for end-to-end delivery, governance, and assurance of statutory compliance
6. Act as Responsible Person and Duty Holder
7. Lead governance of HV/LV systems, Safe Systems of Work, and permit-to-work controls
8. Maintain a safe, audit-ready, and fully compliant operating environment
9. Drive a zero-harm culture
Commercial & Financial Accountability
10. Manage engineering cost base, budgets, and margin performance
11. Deliver cost efficiency and contract performance improvements
12. Support forecasting and capital planning
Operations & People Leadership
13. Lead, coach, and develop senior engineering teams
14. Drive consistency in processes, systems, and reporting
15. Build succession and capability across the organisation
Asset Strategy & Lifecycle Management
16. Own asset strategy aligned to ISO55001 principles
17. Align asset condition, risk, and investment planning
18. Drive asset performance and whole-life cost efficiency
Technology, Data & Innovation
19. Lead engineering systems and data-led decision making
20. Champion digital innovation and emerging technologies
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
21. Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
22. Deliver against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations
What We're Looking For
About You
23. Proven senior engineering leadership experience
24. Background in critical environments such as data centres or financial services
25. Experience as Duty Holder / Responsible Person / Principal Engineer
26. Strong expertise in HV/LV systems and electrical safety governance
27. Strong commercial acumen and contract management experience
Qualifications
28. Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
29. Chartered or Registered Engineer (preferred)
