You will work in accordance with Trust and Directorate policies to ensure accurate record keeping, which includes initial & risk assessments, formulation, and care plans. You will use supervision, team meetings, and other forums to address systemic and organizational matters.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based systemic psychotherapy to young people aged 0-18 years, their families, carers, and professional networks.
You will have access to specialist support and consultation on complex cases involving Forensic CAMHs and Eating Disorders via our relationship within the South London Partnership, as well as our Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Services.
You will become part of a well-established, supportive family psychotherapy team and collaborate with MDT and systemic colleagues in our service-wide intervention clinics. Sessions may be recorded for training or development purposes using video equipment.
There are excellent opportunities to contribute to service development, implementation, audits, and Quality Improvement projects to improve outcomes for families with complex mental health issues.
You will develop formulation skills through case presentations, clinical supervision, training, and participation in local and trust-wide meetings of family psychotherapists and systemic practitioners.
The post holder will liaise and collaborate with professional networks involved in highly complex, emotive, and often conflictual issues such as child protection, self-harm, violence, trauma, suicide risk, criminal offending, sexualized behaviour, and parental mental health problems.

You will provide systemic interventions for families, especially where there is increased risk of self-harm or inpatient admission, and for young people with learning disabilities or neurodivergence alongside mental health issues. You will also work with Children Looked after, Adopted, or in guardianship or external placements, focusing on participation and co-production, and care coordination.

To provide highly specialist consultation, supervision, advice, and guidance to professionals working with families within the service and partner agencies.
The post holders will liaise and collaborate with networks involved in complex issues such as child protection, self-harm, violence, trauma, suicide risk, criminal behaviour, sexualized behaviour, and parental mental health issues.
You will work according to Trust and Directorate policies to ensure accurate record keeping, including assessments, formulations, and care plans.
You will contribute to the development, evaluation, and monitoring of service policies and adhere to the Principles of THRIVE.
You will communicate complex clinical information effectively and sensitively, including assessment outcomes, formulations, and treatment plans with young people.
You will monitor progress using appropriate outcome measures and feedback mechanisms.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Post-graduate qualification in relevant mental health or social welfare profession (e.g., social work, nursing, OT, Art Therapy) with at least three years of practice.
* Additional training or teaching experience is desirable.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years working in CAMHS or with children and families in relevant settings.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to work with diverse communities and highly specialized therapeutic skills.
* Experience working with neurodiverse children.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical issues, and frameworks like The Children Act 1989.
