Overview
We are currently recruiting for a highly organised, qualified Pre-Employment Construction Tutor to join our team. The role requires delivering high-quality teaching, assessment and learner support, managing e-portfolio building using OneFile, and ensuring that all required funding paperwork is completed. The position involves travel between our Skills Academies in the South Yorkshire region and Pop-up academies to cover staff absences.
Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-defined curriculum to a very high standard to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of learners.
* Provide high-quality teaching, learning and development for learners, including delivery of high-quality teaching, assessment and support to classroom performance.
* Maintain and complete learner files, course-related documentation, and relevant tracking documents during delivery.
* Mentor, observe and assess learners in the classroom and/or workshop, providing feedback and guidance to ensure learning standards are met and qualifications are attained within the programme.
* Offer information, advice and guidance to promote learner development and progression.
* Meet Company, Funding & Awarding Organisation requirements.
* Assess learners’ e-portfolios of evidence to verify that achievements have been met.
* Provide delivery cover at our Academies and Pop-Up Academies in the South Yorkshire region; regular travel is required.
What You Will Deliver
* Specialist 2 – 4 week Level 1 and Level 2 trade programmes that introduce a specific trade and develop practical skills and knowledge for employment within the sector.
* Specialise in Construction theory and Health and Safety as mandatory topics.
* Support learners in completing a OneFile e-portfolio and associated funding paperwork to ensure learner success.
Skills, Experience and Qualities
* Experience of classroom-based delivery.
* Experience working with a diverse range of learners.
* IT literate with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
* Enthusiasm, ability to work under pressure, and current, relevant occupational expertise in the Construction industry with Level 3 competencies.
* Evidence of continued professional development within the occupational sector.
Qualifications
* A teaching qualification at a minimum of PTLLS or Level 3 AET.
* An assessor award or qualification.
* A Level 3 qualification or occupational competence.
