Overview
Health & Safety Advisor. We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our clients busy operational team. You will provide practical safety leadership and technical advice to ensure legal compliance, reduce risk, and promote a positive safety culture across multiple sites. This is a part-time, permanent role for 3 days/week.
Key responsibilities
* Develop, implement and maintain health & safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work
* Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, audits and toolbox talks
* Investigate incidents and near misses; produce reports with corrective actions and track completion
* Deliver training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors
* Provide competent person support for statutory duties and liaise with regulatory bodies as required
* Monitor compliance with legislation and industry standards; update management on performance and trends
* Support safe contractor management, permits to work and occupational health arrangements
* Produce clear documentation, management reports and recommendations to reduce risk and cost
Essential skills and experience
* NEBOSH National General Certificate (or higher) or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role
* Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessment methodology and accident investigation
* Experience conducting audits and inspections and implementing corrective actions
* Ability to develop and deliver training and safety briefings
* Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
* Competent report writing and IT skills, including MS Office
Desirable
* IOSH membership or other professional affiliations
* Experience in manufacturing
