We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Merchandiser to join our successful Merchandising team at DCK in our Billericay office.
This is a full-time position with a split between home/remote and the office in Billericay.
This is a maternity cover ending July 2025.
You will:
* Work alongside Buying, Design, and the Hosting team to define and develop the vision and strategy of the brand; new initiatives must be put forward and planned in line with the critical path.
* Manage critical path timelines and key milestone deadlines to ensure they are achieved. Manage workload in line with your brand's priorities and ensure effective communication with the Merchandise Manager.
* Drive building blocks and strategy for the department forward with a profitability focus, aligning with DCK and Host Strategy where appropriate.
* Continuously review the P&L for the department and discuss actions to maximize the full potential of your brand, using analytics to propose solutions.
* Use available systems to establish clear and profitable assortment plans, BEVs, and phasing, balancing newness, consolidated lines, and sell-through, considering sales and profit density.
* Sign off strategy and budgets with the senior team.
* Ensure accurate and timely pre-season planning based on strategy and targets. Maximize opportunities and mitigate risks, providing a concise summary and action plan to the business.
* Quantify building blocks through data and communicate them confidently to the business.
* Complete seasonal planning, including assortment, option, and range planning, to a high standard, optimizing options, newness, and grading to grow profitability.
* Maximize space and options, highlighting risks and opportunities with clear action points.
* Manage seasonal OTB, devising and agreeing on option count and phasing in line with the assortment plan, and communicate with the buying team within deadlines.
* Set stock requirements to meet sales and profit plans, aligning with strategy and opportunities, and communicate stock levels and risks to the Merchandise Manager.
* Undertake accurate in-season forecasting, reacting to trading conditions, and feeding into the planner.
* Review OTB/OTC requirements, adjusting for reforecasts and current trading, within stock parameters.
* Highlight margin risks with buying and suggest corrective actions.
* Gather insights from hosts on footfall, customer behavior, and business changes, and adapt accordingly.
* Identify opportunities using analytics to optimize options, ranging, pricing, and VM, driving business decisions.
* Reforecast sales, stock, intake, and markdowns in the WSSI and line cards for reviews.
* Manage and prioritize team tasks, fostering a culture of transparency and regular communication.
* Coach and develop team members, providing performance feedback and preparing them for future roles.
