Imperial College London and Thomson Reuters haveestablisheda five‑year strategic partnership to create a jointFrontier AI Research Lab, dedicated to world‑leading research in artificial intelligence. The Centre Manager will provide operational leadership to ensure the effective planning, delivery, and governance of the Lab’s activities.
The role is responsible for establishing robust administrative systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards across operational, financial, and stakeholder‑engagement functions. The post holder will act as a key point of coordination between academic teams, industry partners, and internal College services, ensuring the Lab is positioned to deliver impactful research, training programmes and external partnerships.
This role requires significant autonomy, judgement, and accountability for ensuring that activities progress on schedule and that risks, issues, and dependencies are proactively managed. The post holder will lead the operational management, coordination, governance support, and stakeholder engagement activities of the Frontier AI Research Lab, ensuring responsible delivery of its research, training, partnership, and institutional objectives. They will take full ownership of operational processes and be accountable for ensuring the Lab’s work is delivered to a high standard, on time, and in alignment with Department, College and funder requirements.
Experience in the Higher Education sector in a similar or related role(s).
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with confidence in engaging a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience in research administration following a range of administrative procedures.
Experience of event and project management, including managing budgets.
A proactive, and innovative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality output.
