An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Orthotist to join our Argyll and Bute Service. This role represents an ideal step for an Orthotist aspiring to combine advanced clinical practice with service leadership in the NHS.

We are seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking practitioner with advanced clinical skills, proven leadership ability and a commitment to driving service improvement.

This post offers the chance to make a measurable difference for our patients through innovative, evidence-based orthotic practice within a supportive and progressive team.

Continuous support from Orthotic Professional Lead in North Highland, with strong escalation and support pathways.

The base is negotiable within Argyll & Bute and can be decided upon following discussions at interview. Normal NHS T&C's apply when travelling from base: time and expenses are supported. Clinical rota across the localities is flexible and can be negotiated.

Requirements

HCPC registration
BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics & Orthotics (or equivalent).
Full driving license
Ability to demonstrate post-graduate experience managing complex caseloads independently
The post holder should have a relevant Masters degree or evidence of working to that Advanced level
Evidence of leadership, supervision, involvement in service development and/or quality improvement.
Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
Commitment to ongoing CPD and implementation of evidence based practice.

Additional Information For Candidates

Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
