We are a well-established construction company with over 25 years' experience delivering building, refurbishment, and maintenance works for both public- and private-sector clients. Due to continued growth and secured contracts, we are seeking a motivated Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
The Role
As an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in pricing projects, managing costs, and supporting the delivery team to ensure works are delivered on budget and to client expectations. The role will involve:
* Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for building and refurbishment projects.
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents to assess project requirements.
* Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
* Preparing bills of quantities, schedules, and cost breakdowns.
* Supporting project teams with cost control, variations, and valuations.
* Attending pre-start meetings and liaising with clients, consultants, and the site team.
* Monitoring project financial performance and preparing final accounts.
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, detail-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or similar role in the building trade.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (experience of estimating software an advantage).
* Good communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders/projects at once and meet deadlines.
* Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management.
