* Salary: Grade 7 £34,814 - £37,535 (pay award pending)
* Location: Sheffield (This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)

Connected by Water is an alliance comprising of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, City of Doncaster Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Sheffield City Council, the Environment Agency, and Yorkshire Water, working together to build flood resilience and respond to the climate emergency.

About the role
As Catchment Coordinator (project officer) you will work on behalf of the seven strategic partners supporting project management, administration and technical support to the Connected by Water Partnership Team. You’ll support the development and delivery of the programme with the aim of taking a catchment wide approach to managing water across South Yorkshire, including mitigating flood risk, and enhancing flood awareness and resilience.
Other responsibilities include:
* Provide high quality project administration support for the Partnership including agendas, supporting meetings, ensuring project documentation is up to date and information management integrity maintained.
* Gather data and evidence from partners to justify business cases and demonstrate impact.
* Analyse and manipulate flood risk, water management and other data and evidence and utilise tools and scenario planning approaches to aid decision making
* Support the identification of opportunities to resolve flood risk and water management issues (e.g. identifying historical water infrastructure) and provide technical support for developing an integrated approach to water management.
* Assist in the preparation of funding bids to support the work of the partnership.
* Support performance management, including collecting partner data and reporting, monitoring, and management of key performance indicators (KPIs).
About you
You’ll have previous experience working within a related discipline (such as flood risk management, GIS, climate change, science, engineering, environment, or geography), within an administrative or project supporting role. You’ll have knowledge of the assessment, interpretation, and communication of data including ability to clearly present key items and risks.

* Experience working with Microsoft Office to produce professional documentation.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to deal with difficult and sensitive situations.
* High standard of oral and written presentation skills
* High professional standards with the ability to work on own initiative and perform duties with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
* Good organisation and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, prioritising workloads, and work under own initiative to ensure deadlines are met.
* Ability to adopt an effective approach to problem-solving, adapting to changes in circumstances and information.
