Responsibilities
* Allocate work and duties to the engineering team to ensure sufficient vehicles for service.
* Ensure the engineering team effectively and efficiently delivers planned and unplanned maintenance, and that all vehicle wheels are checked and torqued.
* Deliver and manage Daily Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR) in cooperation with Operations Teams.
* Review vehicles, assign status to each, and log any mileage lost; highlight specific mileage challenges.
* Conduct frequent and regular reviews of the facilities and workshop, reporting housekeeping and defect issues.
* Supervise contractors and ensure necessary permits for visitors working in the engineering department.
* Carry out quality checks on all vehicles to meet both DVSA and company standards.
* Manage night‑shift workshop engineers, ensuring they have the skills needed, and conduct performance management to maximise productivity.
Qualifications
Essential experience managing a team of engineers, motivating colleagues, and delivering vehicle maintenance under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn technologies unique to our business. Membership of IRTE or another relevant professional qualification is preferred, and an interest in emerging technologies and electric vehicles would be an advantage.
Salary & Benefits
£62,250 pa plus benefits including a pension scheme, and a travel pass for London Buses and the Tube Network.
Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday, 22:00 – 06:00.
