Position Summary
Plans, organizes and oversees daily operations of imaging area; oversees prioritization and scheduling of patients, monitors and maintains quality of services, resolves problems and supervises technologists, students and technical support personnel; performs duties of staff technologist as well as providing advanced technical services; manages a significant aspect of the imaging area under the direction of the Modality Operations Manager.
Eligible new hires may receive a sign on bonus up to $15000.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overseeing Daily Operations: This involves managing the daily activities of the imaging area, prioritizing and scheduling patients to ensure efficient, effective, and safe patient flow.
2. Supervision and Quality Monitoring: Supervising technical staff, assistants, and students, while monitoring and ensuring the quality of the procedures performed.
3. Inventory and Equipment Management: Maintaining the inventory of medical supplies, monitoring and maintaining equipment operations, and coordinating maintenance activities. This also includes researching and recommending equipment purchases.
4. Compliance and Protocol Development: Monitoring and maintaining compliance with radiation safety and quality control guidelines, and participating in the development and implementation of new technical protocols.
5. Communication and Collaboration: Interacting and communicating with both department staff and patients/families to ensure efficient and effective performance of patient exams, and collaborating with the Modality Operations Manager in staff evaluations and development.
Minimum Requirements:
o Education: Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
o License/Certification: Current Massachusetts license as a Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist
o Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Technologist
