As an Operations Manager at Terex, based in Ballymoney, you'll play a pivotal role in the site providing strong leadership for the Ballymoney team including; Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Quality, Purchasing, Materials, Health & Safety, Maintenance & Facilities, and Training. You will enable these functions to meet the operations strategy and continue to grow the business.
What you’ll do:
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to the operations teams.
* Develop and maintain best practices in HSE awareness and training to achieve the target of Zero Harm.
* Ensure full compliance of the team with site policies, procedures, and HSE regulations.
* Develop and maintain best practices and production efficiencies in line with the Materials Processing Operating System using the tools and techniques.
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the production facility and financial aspects in line with budgets and the site P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and strive towards world-class manufacturing standards.
* Improve the capabilities and capacity of the manufacturing unit, achieving Build To Schedule (BTS), On Time Delivery (OTD), and cost targets.
* Efficiently integrate new products into production and collaborate with external sites on pipeline products.
* Lead, develop, and motivate staff towards achieving targets and objectives continuously.
* Act as part of the site’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure understanding of capacity, build schedules, and supply constraints.
* Provide management reports as required to site management and the wider Terex Materials Processing Group.
* Contribute to the factory budgeting process with relevant information and details in collaboration with Finance.
* Ensure timely and effective communication with all relevant departments.
* Collaborate with the wider Terex Materials Processing Group on manufacturing strategies and other duties.
What you’ll bring:
Experience & Qualifications:
* A proven track record of operational achievement in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for a third-level qualification.
* Significant experience in operations, including senior management roles.
* Experience managing a fast-moving, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing facility, preferably in manufacturing engineering with fabrication/steelwork, including supply chain and quality functions.
* People management experience across various roles and levels, including employee development, relations, performance, and change management.
* Strong motivation and excellent communication skills, with knowledge of lean principles and demonstrated application of lean techniques.
* Proven success in implementing improvement projects and consistently meeting financial targets.
