As a Hotel Receptionist at Harbour Hotel Southampton, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, delivering exceptional 5-star customer service from arrival through to departure. You will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences by providing a warm welcome, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring every interaction reflects the luxury standards of the hotel. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests professionally and efficiently, ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience. Provide exceptional 5-star customer service, exceeding guest expectations at every opportunity. Handle reservations, room allocations, and guest requests accurately using the hotel management system. Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests. Maintain detailed knowledge of hotel facilities, local attractions, dining options, and events to assist guests effectively. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction. Process payments, invoices, and cash handling procedures in accordance with company policies. Answer telephone calls and email enquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times. Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and representative of a luxury hospitality environment. 5-Star Service Standards Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for hospitality. Skills & Experience Previous experience in a hotel reception, front office, or customer service role is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional, friendly, and approachable manner. Competent IT skills and experience using hotel reservation systems 'Opera'. Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
