We are delighted to announce an opening for the position of Head of Community Safety. This role requires a forward‑thinking, adaptable strategic leader to shape the future of our Community Safety Services.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee Youth Services and the Community Safety Partnership (Safer Plymouth).
* Manage statutory obligations such as Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews, Anti‑Social Behaviour Case Reviews, and Serious Violence Reduction Duty.
* Lead and guide high‑performing teams, driving system improvements and fostering collaboration across local, regional, and national partners.
* Be physically available to respond to high‑profile community safety incidents.
* Influence policy and enhance services for the residents of Plymouth.
Required Qualifications
* Strong senior partnership‑building skills.
* A strategic vision for community safety.
* Experience in a fast‑paced public service environment.
* Preferred, but not essential, experience in a senior role within a political context.
Optional: Commitment to working with exceptional teams and partners to ensure Plymouth is a city where everyone feels safe.
Working Hours
Flexible working is suitable for this role, subject to the needs of the service and the ability to attend the office on short notice.
