Fleet Engineer - Full Job Description Company: Oxfordshire Narrow BoatsJoin Oxfordshire Narrow Boats and play a vital role in maintaining and servicing our fleet of holiday narrowboats, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and ready for our customers.We are seeking a skilled and practical engineer with a proven background in plant, HGV, marine, or mobile engineering. While previous experience with boats and an interest in the waterways is advantageous, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.The RoleAs a Fleet Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Repair and maintenance of engines, gearboxes, and electrical systems Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on diesel engines, machinery, and components Working on 12 volt electrical systems Undertaking routine servicing and planned maintenance Attending breakdowns and call-outs along the canal network Inspecting installations, identifying issues, and reporting findings Supporting customers through technical handovers and resolving issues professionally Dealing directly with customers in a courteous and professional manner Coordinating and completing job-related paperwork and reports Maintaining accurate records of company van servicing and maintenance Managing stock, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness and complianceSkills & Experience Required Proven background in plant engineering, HGV engineering, marine engineering, or mobile engineering Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Proven repair and maintenance capabilities Good organisational skills with attention to detail Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach Ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads, and manage time effectively Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to breakdown situationsWhat We Offer Salary: £33,000 per year Full-time role, 40 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis 28 days annual leave Company van provided for work-related use Employee discounts on narrowboat holidays On-site parking The opportunity to work within a small, skilled team in a unique and varied working environment Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In personApply now and bring your engineering expertise to the waterways with Oxfordshire Narrow Boats .Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: From £33,000.00 per yearBenefits: Company pension Employee discount Free parking On-site parkingWork Location: In person
