KCR Solutions are delighted to be recruiting an Accountant to work within the Public Sector. You will be a fully qualified accountant with the ability to lead the organisation’s technical accounting function, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements. Key responsibilities include: Lead the preparation and delivery of the organisation’s annual Statement of Accounts in line with CIPFA Code of Practice and statutory regulations. Manage the audit recovery process for prior years, liaising with external auditors to rebuild confidence in financial reporting. Oversee the organisation’s financial systems, ensuring robust controls and reconciliations are in place to support strategic decision-making. Supervise and develop the central finance team, providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management. Deputise for the Head of Corporate Finance and provide strategic financial advice. Manage treasury and banking operations to support organisation activities and mitigate financial risk. Deliver technical accounting guidance and training to senior officers. Foster collaboration with finance professionals to promote best practice. Candidate Profile Fully qualified accountant (e.g. CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent). Extensive experience in financial reporting, audit liaison, and technical accounting. Proven leadership in managing finance teams and complex financial processes. Strong understanding of public sector finance. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at senior levels. Proficient in financial systems development and control frameworks.
