One-to-One Support Worker (BSL) – Hearing Impairment
Location: Leicester
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm – Monday to Friday
Weeks: Term time only (39 weeks per year)
Contract: Temp- Permanent (bank option also available)
Salary: £89 - 100 a day
Are you passionate about inclusive education and fluent in British Sign Language? We're looking for a dedicated One-to-One Support Worker to support students with hearing impairments across a specialist educational setting for young people aged 4–19.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to students with hearing impairments
* Translate and communicate using BSL in classroom settings
* Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs
* Encourage the development of student independence
* Collaborate with teachers and wider support staff to promote inclusive learning
What You’ll Need
* BSL Level 3, or Level 2 with willingness to train to Level 3
* A proactive, flexible and compassionate approach
* Basic IT skills, particularly for creating accessible resources
* Experience working with students with hearing impairments is a bonus
