Azure Security Engineer - 3-Month Contract - Hybrid (London)
We're hiring an experienced Azure Security Engineer to take hands-on ownership of improving Microsoft security posture across cloud and endpoint environments. This role is focused on real remediation, not just advisory work, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Defender, vulnerability reduction, and Purview-led compliance uplift.
Key Responsibilities
* Remediate vulnerabilities identified by Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and External Attack Surface Management (EASM).
* Improve Microsoft Secure Score through hands-on configuration hardening across Azure, identity, endpoints, and workloads.
* Implement and manage Microsoft Purview controls including DLP, sensitivity labels, insider risk, and records management.
* Support detection and response activities, including Sentinel tuning, alert triage, and threat investigation.
* Work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to deliver real remediation and measurable risk reduction.
What You Will Ideally Bring
* Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and EASM.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview (DLP, sensitivity labels, insider risk).
* Proven experience remediating vulnerabilities across Azure and endpoint environments.
* Solid Azure identity and access security skills (Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM).
* Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell and/or Microsoft Graph.
Contract Details
* Duration: 3 months (with potential extension)
* Day Rate: Up to £400 per day (Outside IR35)
* Location: London - Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)
