Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, teas, sandwiches, and light snacks
* Assist with food production and ensure adherence to food safety standards
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and serving areas
* Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders accurately
* Manage stock levels and assist with inventory control
* Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
* Follow health and safety regulations at all times
* Supervise junior staff or trainees as required, demonstrating leadership qualities
* Handle customer enquiries professionally and resolve any issues promptly
Skills
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or serving within a café or restaurant environment
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanour
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience preferred
* Organised with good time management skills to handle busy service periods
* Knowledge of culinary techniques, food production processes, and kitchen operations
* Barista experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
* Hospitality background in hotels or similar establishments is desirable
