 
        Job Description We have a permanent vacancy for a Information and Disclosure Officer to join our small and supportive team to ensure that information is managed effectively within our Legal and Compliance Services Directorate. Information and Disclosure Officers undertake research and make decisions in response to requests for statutory or court ordered disclosure of information and the retention, deletion of data in line with local and national policies. This is a varied and interesting role where you will have an opportunity to work within a range of different teams interrogating a number of police systems. In This Role, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include Researching, retrieving, collating and redacting relevant data from a range of different police systems. Making decisions regarding the retention, deletion and/or disclosure of data in line with court orders. Providing professional advice and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring effective management of an efficient service to meet the business demand. Providing and analysing data in line with organisational governance for compliance reports. Skills, Experience And Qualifications Required The ability to interpret and apply legislation i.e. The Freedom of Information Act 2000, The Data Protection Act 2018, the UK GDPR, the Human Rights Act 1998, MOPI APP, 2013 Protocol and any other relevant legislation. Ability to make decisions and work to tight deadlines. Ability to gather and organise and present information in a logical manner. Good IT skills including experience of using Microsoft office, Adobe Pro and Adobe software. (This could include experience of working with digital material which is advantageous but not essential.) This role will be dedicated to one of the teams within Legal and Compliance Services Directorate: Family Court Disclosure, Records Management, Freedom of Information or Data Protection. However, there will be opportunities to work in any of the teams within the Directorate to further your Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and training and support will be provided. Please note that the role involves reviewing sensitive information that may be deemed distressing. Additional Information This is full time position working Monday - Friday. This is a blended role and therefore the opportunity to work from home is available, however the expectation is that you attend Portishead HQ as and when required. Initial training will be office based and following completion of training you will attend the office at least once a week for meetings with colleagues, teams from other departments, Constabularies and agencies.
