An well performing special school is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Headteacher to support the Headteacher with operational leadership.
This is a hands-on senior leadership role within a complex behavioural environment. The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside additional SEND profiles. A visible, confident and relational leadership style is essential.
The Role
Hands on leadership role
Oversight of assessment and data
Daily staffing and operational coordination
Line management of pastoral and teaching staff
Behaviour and culture leadership
Supporting a trauma-informed approach
Working closely with the Headteacher to maintain stability and standards
The Ideal Candidate
Experienced Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher or senior leader within SEMH, alternative provision or specialist settings
Strong background in behaviour leadership and safeguarding
Confident operating in high-challenge environments
Experience overseeing assessment, data and school improvement
Able to integrate quickly and provide stability during a transitional period
