Our client, a leading company in the rail sector, is seeking a Lead Engineer/CRE (Civils) for a long-term contract based in the North West region. This role will involve working on a large rail infrastructure project and requires a strong background in civils, particularly lineside civils. The successful applicant will be working inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the delivery of civil engineering projects within the rail sector
Be the design & construction interface
Managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the project engineering team
Ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations
Acting as the Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) for civil works
Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Providing technical guidance and ensuring quality control throughout project phases
Preparing and reviewing project documentation and reports
Maintaining effective communication with the client and project team
Job Requirements:
Extensive experience in civil engineering within the rail industry
Proven experience performing CRE duties and obtaining sign-off
Strong understanding of lineside civils and associated challenges
Holder of a valid PTS/Sentinel certification
Excellent project management and leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
