Role Overview
As the Operational Finance Manager for a portfolio of 30 hotels, you will be the strategic right hand to the Group Finance Director. Youll oversee the financial operations across multiple properties, ensuring consistency, compliance, and commercial insight. This role demands a hands-on leader with deep hospitality experience, capable of driving performance, supporting hotel GMs, and translating financial data into operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
?? Financial Operations Across Properties
Oversee daily financial activities across all 30 hotels, including revenue capture, cost control, and cash management.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes for each property.
Standardise financial procedures and controls across the group to ensure consistency and compliance.
?? Team Leadership & Property Support
Lead and mentor a team of regional and property-level finance professionals.
Act as a key liaison between hotel General Managers and the central finance team.
Provide training and support to hotel teams on financial systems, reporting, and controls.
?? Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Coordinate annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles across all hotels.
Consolidate property-level budgets into group-level financial plans.
Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
?? Commercial & Strategic Analysis
Analyse hotel performance metrics including RevPAR, GOP, ADR, and occupancy trends.
Support pricing, promotions, and capital investment decisions with financial modelling.
Identify underperforming assets and recommend turnaround strategies.
?? Systems & Process Improvement
Drive automation and digitisation of financial processes across the group.
Lead implementation and optimisation of hospitality finance systems (e.g., PMS, POS, ERP).
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and industry regulations.
?? Leadership & Succession
Deputise for the Group Finance Director in their absence.
Represent finance in cross-functional leadership meetings and strategic initiatives.
Contribute to long-term financial strategy and growth planning for the hotel group.
Skills & Qualifications
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years experience in hospitality finance, ideally across multi-site operations.
Strong understanding of hotel KPIs and operational drivers.
Proven leadership experience managing remote or distributed teams.
Advanced Excel and experience with hospitality finance systems (e.g., Guestline, Sage, SAP).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
