We are seeking multiple tutors within the Peterborough area to work with young people aged between 5-16 – is this something you would be interested in?
Here at TP Tutors, we work closely with local authorities nationwide, providing tuition for young people who are out of mainstream education for various reasons, including SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and Lower Learning Levels. Our goal is to deliver high-quality, impactful 1:1 tuition to support these young people.
Job Description:
As a Tutor, your responsibilities include providing academic support and guidance to young people in 1:1 or small group settings. You will prepare and deliver lessons both face-to-face and online, assess student progress, identify learning gaps, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Job Duties:
1. Develop personalized learning strategies for students outside mainstream education.
2. Deliver engaging lessons aligned with students' education plans.
3. Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting techniques as needed.
4. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and professionals for holistic development.
5. Complete detailed reports after each session, outlining objectives, engagement, and comprehension.
Required Qualifications:
* QTS or a Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification, or experience with SEN/SEMH.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
* A relevant degree in Education or related field.
* Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH.
* Knowledge of learning disabilities and support strategies.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience creating and implementing IEPs.
* Training in interventions like Makaton or TEACCH.

Pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary role, with potential for permanency later.
