This 24 month apprenticeship role starting February 2026 offers the opportunity to earn as you learn. Successful candidates will be enrolled on an integrated Pharmacy apprenticeship with a day release to attend college. Apprentices take on a hybrid learning format of underpinning knowledge of Pharmacy and sciences as well as the on the job skills of a pharmacy technician, assessed by assignments and evidence collection to an e-portfolio in order to register with the General Pharmaceutical council as a Pharmacy Technician by the end of the course.
Apprentices will spend their time split between our Basingstoke and Winchester sites rotating through the different areas of the pharmacy department, including :
1. Inpatient dispensary
2. Aseptic unit
3. Clinical Trials
4. Medicines Information
5. Medicines Management
6. Outpatients
7. Pharmacy Stores
8. Medicines Safety & Governance
9. Homecare
Applicants must be a UK resident for the last 3+ years
Applicants must have GCSE grades A-C (9-4) or equivalent qualifications converted to match GCSE grading and have proof of these qualifications available.
Main duties of the job
10. To work through the integrated Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship programme and complete all assignments and educational tasks to deadlines in order to satisfy the requirements for qualification and registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
11. To gain practical experience and collect evidence in the tasks required of Pharmacy Technicians in various sections of the Pharmacy department under supervision of a registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
12. Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C/4 or above
13. English Language GCSE or equivalent grade C/4 or above
14. Double Science award GCSE/2 Science subjects GCSE grade C/4 or above
15. At least one additional GCSE grade C/4 or above
Desirable criteria
16. Pharmacy Level 2 or equivalent GPhC accredited qulification
17. IT qualification.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
18. Able to articulate the importance of patient confidentiality in the healthcare setting.
19. Can demonstrate comprehension of the various roles of a pharmacy technician
20. Previous experience of working and communicating within a team
Desirable criteria
21. Previous role in pharmacy in the UK (within the last 3 years)
22. Experience in working in a patient and/or customer orientated healthcare setting
23. Previous experience of stock management
24. Previous experience of working with medicines in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
25. To know the professional standards set by the GPhC for pharmacy professionals
26. To be aware of the GPhC ‘Code of Conduct for Trainee Pharmacy Technicians’.
