The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy, as well as helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners, and protecting the most vulnerable in society. Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt’s (CFCD) aim is to reduce fraud, error, and debt within the benefit system to protect public funds.

The CFCD CBRS Grade 7 (G7) leads the Directorate’s approach to ensuring compliance with Security, Data, and Information requirements. This role involves leading CFCD responses to briefings and departmental requests through a Briefing Hatch function, identifying and mitigating key risks, and implementing effective controls to maintain CFCD security.
As a team leader, collaboration and close working with your team are essential in this role.
The G7 leads the team to deliver core functions including:
* Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate CFCD Risks, aligned with the DWP Risk Management Framework, and providing narratives that inform the DWP Services and Fraud Risk Plan.
* Reporting on risks and mitigation activities to support decision-making by the Performance Risk and Deployment Board and executive team.
* Integrating risk awareness and practices into routine activities.
* Working closely with fraud, error, and debt (FED) Policy and CFCD Functional areas to ensure timely and robust responses to requests via the CFCD Briefing Hatch function.
* Evolving the Briefing Hatch function to handle increasing FOI requests and changing briefing requirements.
* Collaborating with DWP Security and Information Management to ensure compliance, manage risks, and develop improvement plans.
* Delivering security, data, and information awareness programs to promote ongoing compliance.
* Developing and managing the CFCD Business Continuity Plan within the DWP framework.
* Coordinating activities to ensure business-level Business Continuity Plans are in place and tested.
* Supporting and maintaining access to small-scale portals and establishing new processes as needed.
* Supporting the DWP ID Badging Process to assist colleagues requiring identification for customer visits.
Due to the geographically dispersed team, this role requires frequent travel and overnight stays.
