If so, then you could make a real difference and study for your Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship with this Apprentice Care Assistant position at Romans Care Home in Southwick.

As a care assistant you will work as part of a team, providing the care and support that meets the resident's needs as well as the charity expectations. While supporting the Christian ethos of the home you will work alongside colleagues to deliver a consistent approach to delivering care services across the home to ensure the outcomes set out in the 'Quality of Life - Outcome-based framework' are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

* To ensure that the service delivered within the scope of responsibility is delivered in a way that is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
* To support the acre home to deliver excellence through implementing local best practice ensuring that the service responds to the changing care environment in line with the Charity's strategic direction
* By contributing to ensuring efficiency that delivers service excellence.
* By maintaining positive relationships with residents, colleagues, visitors to the home, as well as the local community and outside bodies always
* By consciously always representing the charity by upholding its values, Christian ethos and charitable objects.
* By demonstrating the 'Behaviours' required for the role.
* By demonstrating the ability to consistently work in a safe way, following procedures and working within own area of capability and responsibility.
* By learning and demonstrating a commitment to Keychange Care through maximising fulfilment of allocated agreed shifts and communicating in an open and timely way regarding absence from work
* Other duties as reasonably required by the organisation
* To provide care and support to residents, as detailed in individual care plans; following recognised approaches and working within own ability and area of responsibility. -Communicating effectively including maintaining records
* Team working using a consistent, collaborative best practice approach; contributing to service improvement and development, through sharing ideas and concerns; considering the needs and wants of people who use the services.
* To enable Quality of Life Outcomes to be achieved for every resident.

This is a vital role in the home and the apprentice will need to be dedicated to its success as well as flexible in their approach to it and easily adapt to change. They will be tasked with developing a further understanding of the job role and be expected to remain up-to-date with the requirements of the job role, including undertaking training and development activities, taking part in supervision, performance management and performance appraisals and fulfilling policies in accordance with the aims of the Charity; ensuring the service is safe and that required standards are implemented; enabling the best possible service delivery within agreed budgets and ensuring the objectives of the charity are pursued at all times; encouraging and supporting a vibrant community, a Christian ethos and the advancement of the Christian religion.

Working Week: 30 hours per week including 6 for work-based learning. Hours will be on a shift rota and will consist of 5 days out of 7 from 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm. Shifts will include weekends.

Salary: £15,600 per annum age and experience dependant and in advance of the Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage.

Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 2 will be required to apply for this apprenticeship.

Future Prospects: Full-time position available with an opportunity to further knowledge with Diplomas 3 and 5 within Care on successful completion of this apprenticeship.

Things to Consider:

* Due to the nature of the job, this role will only suit someone who is dedicated to forging a career in adult social care.
* A uniform will be provided
* A DBS check will need to be completed
* There is parking on site if required
* This is a 12-month apprenticeship and applicants MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for it and have the minimum qualification level to apply for it
* Applicants MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK.
* Applicants WILL NOT BE eligible to apply if they have already achieved a qualification which is equal to or higher thank the apprenticeship standard on offer.
* Applicants MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
* Applicants MUST BE committed to the learning and stay to the end of the apprenticeship.

Further Information: Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £7.55 per hour (As of the 1st April This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
