Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to temporarily join our team as a community staff nurse within the District Nursing Service in the Dunfermline locality for 43 weeks to cover for maternity leave.
Applicants to the post require to have significant nursing experience and demonstrable leadership and communication skills and evidence on continuing development. Extensive clinical expertise and knowledge are essential, along with a desire to assist the Community Nursing Team to deliver a high quality service. You must be passionate about a career in community care services and be motivated to work autonomously within a dynamic environment as part of the wide Health and Social Care Partnership.
The post will include working weekends and public holidays and you must have an ability to work in other areas in NHS Fife if the service warrants it. You will be required to work within a 24 hour, 7 day Community Nursing Service.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. An ability to travel across the locality is essential. Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.
Responsibilities
* Work within a 24 hour, 7 day Community Nursing Service.
* Include working weekends and public holidays and be willing to work in other areas in NHS Fife if the service warrants it.
* Travel across the locality as required.
* Secondment and approval requirements: existing permanent employees should discuss the opportunity with their substantive line manager; the secondment policy applies. External applicants with continuous NHS Service must have a secondment agreement from their current board to apply for this post.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Significant nursing experience with demonstrable leadership and communication skills and evidence of continuing development.
* Extensive clinical expertise and knowledge essential; ability to assist the Community Nursing Team to deliver a high quality service.
* Passion for a career in community care services and the ability to work autonomously within a dynamic environment as part of the Health and Social Care Partnership.
* Must be a PVG Scheme member prior to appointment.
* Ability to travel across the locality.
* Pro rata salary for part-time hours.
