We re looking for an experienced and strategic leader to join our Planning & Housing team as Principal, Housing Growth. This is a unique opportunity to influence housing policy and delivery at a regional level, supporting the ambitions of the Greater Manchester Strategy (GMS) and the Housing First programme. You will play a key role in delivering new homes, including the implementation of the 39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP), and ensuring progress towards our energy efficient and net zero housing goals. What You ll Do Lead projects and programmes on housing delivery and growth, with a strong focus on social housing and energy-efficient homes. Manage strategic partnerships, including the evolving Strategic Place Partnership with Homes England. Drive implementation of SAHP to maximise investment and resources for Greater Manchester. Provide strategic housing insight and support to GMCA and partners, ensuring alignment with GMS ambitions. Prepare high-level briefings and analysis for senior leaders, the GM Mayor, and national government. Oversee development and review of key strategic documents, including the Housing Delivery Plan. About You You ll bring: In-depth knowledge of housing policy and delivery, particularly in the social housing sector. Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing complex partnerships. Strong analytical, problem-solving and policy development skills. Proven ability to lead multi-agency projects and manage budgets effectively.
