We're looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Production Chef to join our founding kitchen team at the Norfolk Food Hall. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vibrant new culinary destination, working with fresh, local ingredients and playing a key role in supporting both our restaurant kitchen and farm shop operations. You'll be part of a team delivering an exceptional food experience in our state-of-the-art kitchen, and contributing to the wider RNAA events.
Your Role
As a Production Chef, you'll be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for supporting our restaurant kitchen, preparing high-quality products for our farm shop and assisting with events. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing cakes and baked goods for the restaurant and retail space.
* Assisting with basic cooking tasks and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
* Creating a range of high-quality, delicious products for our farm shop and deli counter.
* Maintaining consistent quality and presentation of all products.
* Ensuring accurate labelling and stock rotation.
* Assisting with food preparation and service for special events hosted at the RNAA.
* Contributing to the smooth execution of catering operations.
* Adhering to strict food hygiene and safety standards.
* Managing stock and minimising waste.
* Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.
What We're Looking For
We're searching for someone with a genuine passion for food and a strong desire to create exceptional products. You'll have the following qualities and experience to bring to this exciting role:
* Proven experience in a professional kitchen or high-quality food production environment.
* a keen interest in baking
* Strong culinary skills and a passion for working with fresh, local ingredients.
* Experience in producing a variety of food items for retail or catering.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
* A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher).
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
