DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Therapeutic Activities Worker, you will be responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and executing a range of structured recreational activities tailored to meet the specific needs of our residents. Your duties will include evaluating each resident using observation, interviews, and formal assessment tools to determine the resident's basic long- and short-term needs. In this position, you will develop therapeutic activity goals and plans, design and conduct therapeutic programs, and assess the various segments of the programs to determine their quality. You can expect to maintain records to document resident treatment and fulfill review requirements. By carefully evaluating and understanding the requirements of the residents, you will be able to design activities that not only pique their interest but also encourage them to take initiative, enhance their independent living skills, and promote an overall sense of well-being.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment
* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operation needs. You will work alternating weekends.
* Travel and overtime as needed
* Free parking!
* Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
* Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities;or
* A bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field;or
* An equivalent combination of experience and training.
* Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
* A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
* This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
o Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
