This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to take ownership of the accounts payable function within a supportive and collaborative environment. The Role As Accounts Payable Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day purchase ledger function and ensure accurate, timely processing across all accounts payable activities. Key responsibilities include: Managing high volumes of supplier invoices from receipt to payment Matching, coding, and validating invoices accurately Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies promptly Preparing and processing payment runs via BACS, Faster Payments, and card payments Acting as the main point of contact for supplier queries Processing employee expenses in line with policy Maintaining accurate records and supporting month-end close processes Reviewing and improving accounts payable procedures and controls Supporting the wider finance team when required About You The successful candidate will have: Previous experience within Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes Experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment Advanced Excel skills including LOOKUPs and Pivot Tables Sage 50 or similar accounting systems experience (preferred) Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills A proactive, problem-solving approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team This role is based in Great Barford, Bedfordshire and is predominantly office based.
